Shinpachi (シンパチ), also known as Shin, is one of the main characters in FLCL: Grunge. His perspective serves as the storyline for the first episode, "Shinpachi".
Profile[]
Shinpachi is a 15-year-old boy who works at Miyabi Sushi which is owned and operated by his father. The father and son also live on the upper floor of the restaurant. He was originally a middle school student, but as the adults lost hope due to the constant destruction of the town, the teachers eventually stopped teaching, leaving him and his remaining classmates, Orinoko and Shonari, without any way to continue their education.
He often looks up at the sky and notices the rocket ship leaving, viewing it as the last remaining sign of hope. He wishes that he could join those who were able to do so, but like most of the townspeople, he is unable to afford a ticket.
Appearance[]
He appears to be short in stature, with the mayor being the only other person in the series that is shorter than him. He has somewhat short, messy hair with long sideburns. He is typically shown wearing his work attire, consisting of a short sleeved chef's coat with a lime green undershirt, white apron, black pants and white shoes. Later on, he wears a white hachimaki (headband) to cover up his horn.
