Orinoko (オリノコ) is one of the main characters in FLCL: Grunge. Her perspective serves as the storyline for the third episode, "Orinoko".
Profile[]
Orinoko is a 15-year-old bespectacled girl who spends her days scavenging the local mountains for scrap metal for her father, who is a bladesmith. She lives in a hut in a bamboo forest on the outskirts of town with her father and a robot.
It is implied that the family is rather poor, as Shonari began leaving food near her house after giving her a ride back to town. She was also hesitant about accepting payment from Shinpachi after delivering a knife that was clearly bent and unusable, as she noted that her father was still sick and his skills were in decline. Shinpachi reassured her that her father is the only one in town who can make this particular style and that his blades are the best. It later turned out that he had deliberately paid her more money that what was originally owed.
She has known both Shinpachi and Shonari since elementary school. They also went to middle school together, but by their final year, they were the only people at the school, as the teachers gave up on teaching and the adults lost hope following the town's destruction.
Appearance[]
Her hair is colored in an ombré style, going from purple to light blue at the ends. She wears a teal green hoodie with "Ekbk" written on it, brown tights and white boots.
